Some 20-25 years ago there was a garden around almost every house in Uzbekistan.

If not a garden, then at least several fruit trees grew beside.

Overage fruit were simply dried and then consumed during winter and spring.

The dried fruit were stored in specially designed wooden chests. Peppermint leaves

were scattered over them for better preservation.

Everyday food in the past, dried fruit are a dainty and a remedy today.
