Nutmeg

Ground nutmeg is widely used in food industry and cookery. It is added to pastries, cottage cheese desserts, pies, chocolate products, in sauces, compotes, soups, garnishes, vegetables and meat dishes. The nut is perfectly combined with tomatoes and therefore it is one of components of manufactured tomato juices and ketchups. Nutmeg is also used in the process of preparation to alcoholic beverages (wine, punch, mulled wine) and milk cocktails for their additional aromatization. In food industry nutmeg is used in production of fish canned food, spicy mixes for curry and other food products. Apart from nutmeg powder, fragrant essential oil is made of nutmegs . It is used in aromatherapy, as a fragrance in perfumery, in production of cigarettes and pipe tobacco . Nut peels are used in the preparation of essence known as mace oil which is widely used in Europe for preparation of sauces, cheeses and mustards. Consumption of ground nutmeg in small doses shows its positive properties . It has strong stimulating and toning effect on cardiovascular and nervous systems. Even very small doses of nutmeg may soothe nervous system and return the lost dream. Adding it as a warming substance to massage oil or hot tea it is possible to get rid of the first symptoms of cold and to enhance immunity.
